$1,000 scholarship. Application deadline December 15, 2021.
Eligibility is limited to applicants who meet all of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled full time at an accredited university or college
- Pursuing a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) at an accredited university or college
- The applicant must be a refugee defined by the following: A person forced to flee their country because of violence or persecution. You do NOT need to be legally identified as a refugee
- Preference given to individuals who identify as women and non-traditional students
A complete application must include all of the following materials:
- A completed application form (download below)
- Unofficial school transcripts (winners will be required to submit official transcripts before the awards will be disbursed)
- A curriculum vitae
- Two essays (not to exceed 500 words for each prompt) addressing the following prompts:
Why do you consider yourself to be a refugee? How has this experience shaped who you are as a person?
Describe a hardship that you have encountered in your life, and what steps you took (if any) to overcome it.
Explain how this hardship contributes to who you are today and your goals
